Caption

Moss campion (Silene acaulis). Moss campion is a perennial herb that grows on stony grasslands and rocky areas in alpine regions. It usually forms large, flat cushions, and flowers from June to September. Moss campion is considered to be a pioneer species, because it can grow on ground where there is very little soil cover. Photographed on Clavering Island in North East Greenland National Park, Greenland.
