Arctic poppy (Papaver radicatum). This perennial plant is found in Arctic and alpine regions of North America and Eurasia. The flowers follow the sun's path throughout the day. Due to the shape of the flowers, on sunny days, the air inside them becomes warmer than the surrounding air. This attracts insects and also helps the seeds to develop. Photographed in the North East Greenland National Park, Greenland.
