Caption

Flamboyant tree (Delonix regia) on a seashore. This tree, also known as Royal Poinciana, is native to Madagascar but is found from North to South America, and throughout the Caribbean region. The tree grows to between 9 and 14 metres and is well-known for its flame-red flowers that come out in April to June. As the tree matures, it forms an umbrella- shape, making it an ideal shade during the summer months. Photographed in Grenada.
