Caption

Baobab trees (Adansonia grandidieri). The tree is endemic to western Madagascar and thrives in arid scrubland conditions due to its large trunk, which is adapted for storing water. The baobab can grow to heights of around thirty metres and its fibrous bark can be up to fifteen centimetres thick. Photographed in Ifaty, Madagascar.
