Baobab tree (Adansonia rubrostripa) growing on a limestone plateau in the Spiny forest in Madagascar. Baobab trees thrive in arid conditions due to their large trunks which store water. The trees can reach a height of thirty metres and their fibrous bark can be fifteen centimetres thick.
