Baobab tree (Adansonia fony) growing on a limestone plateau at the Tsimanampetsotsa Nature Reserve in Madagascar. The baobab tree thrives in arid conditions due to its large trunk that stores water. Trees can reach a height of thirty metres and their fibrous bark can be up to fifteen centimetres thick.
