Baobab tree (Adansonia grandidieri) The baobab tree can grow up to thirty feet in height. Its large trunk stores water allowing it to thrive in arid conditions. The fibrous bark can be up to fifteen centimetres thick and is used to make rope. Photographed in the Spiny Forest, Madagascar.
