Asthma inhaler. Young girl in smog using her inhaler to treat an asthma attack. Asthma is a lung disorder where passageways in the lung, called bronchioles, constrict. This causes attacks of wheezing, breathlessness and coughing. The inhaler dispenses a bronchodilator drug which widens the airways in the lungs, aiding breathing. Asthma attacks can be triggered by allergic reactions to fogs of air pollution such as smogs.
