Male breast cancer treatment. Red and inflamed skin (right) around a scar on a man's chest following surgery on his left breast to remove a cancerous breast. The nipple and parts of the underlying and surrounding skin have been removed. Breast cancer is more common in women, but can also affect men. As with women, the treatment is to surgically remove the cancer, and then use various combinations of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The inflamed skin is a radiation burn caused by the radiotherapy.
