Caption

Secondary liver cancer. Sectioned gross clinical specimen of a secondary malignant (cancerous) tumour (neoplasm, centre) of the liver. This cancer originates elsewhere in the body (in this case the stomach) before it transfers (metastasises) to the liver. Symptoms associated with this cancer include weight loss, pain and jaundice. There is no cure for secondary liver cancer, but life can be prolonged with anticancer drugs, either taken orally or administered directly into the liver through a catheter.
