Tonsil cancer seen at the back of a patient's mouth during a throat examination. The palatine tonsils are areas of lymphoid tissue in the throat. Here, they have turned cancerous. The velum (soft palate) at the back of the mouth has also been affected. The size of the cancer is beginning to obstruct the throat. Treatment involves surgical removal combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
