Skin cancer surgery. Image 7 of 8. Anti-inflammatory healing gel being applied to the stitched transplanted skin on a patient's lower eyelid. The patient has just undergone surgery to have a basal cell carcinoma (a type of skin cancer) excised from the lower eyelid. A skin flap was then taken from the upper eyelid to replace the lost tissue. For a sequence showing this procedure, see images M131/752 - M131/759.
