Testing for cancer. Technicians performing tests to see whether human tissue samples contain evidence of cancer. They are performing immunoperoxidase reactions. This involves adding monoclonal antibodies to the tissue samples. The antibodies bind to antigens (surface proteins) on tumour-associated cells, forming a complex. Detecting this complex is taken as a sign of cancer.
