Prostate cancer. Coloured urogram (X-ray) of the pelvis of a male patient with prostate cancer. The enlarged prostate has caused the bladder (pale crescent at lower centre) to become indented. This obstruction to the neck of the bladder will impair urination, the main symptom of prostate cancer. The causes of prostate cancer are not known, but it is most prevalent in men over 50 years of age. Treatment is with hormone therapy, chemotherapy, or surgery to remove the prostate.
