This 3D image has been produced by an advanced MRI scanning program that can distinguish different tissues in a level of detail high enough to detect small, local tumours. Here, the inside of the liver is being assessed to plan a treatment for liver cancer (green). This scan was produced at IRCAD, the French research institute for digestive system cancers, in Strasbourg, France.
