Caption

This composite of 2 contrast enhanced axial (cross sectional) MRI images through the posterior fossa demonstrates a densely enhancing exophytic mass arising from the medulla and projecting posteriorally into the lower fourth ventricle. Multiple small dark areas within this enhancing mass represent prominent vessels. This represents a hemangioblastoma. This represents the most common primary intraxial neoplasm in the posterior fossa in adults.
