Caption

This axial (cross-sectional) contrast-enhanced CT of the head shows an enhancing lesion conforming to the shape of the head of the left (on your right) caudate nucleus. This is a capillary telangiectasia which consists of dilated capillaries with interspersed among normal brain parenchyma. These are slow flow types of vascular malformations. These are usually incidental findings and have low potential for intracranial bleeding. They are most common in the brainstem at the level of the pons.
