This frontal projection from a carotid angiogram following super-selective clot dissolution using tPA shows reconstitution of flow in the superior division of the middle cerebral artery which was previously occluded with a blood clot. This is an example of what can be done when a person with an acute stroke is identified early enough (usually within 6 hours of onset of symptoms) in the appropriate setting.
