Man experiencing dysphagia, a condition in which the action of swallowing is difficult, painful or unsuccessful - when swallowed material appears to be held up on its way down into the stomach. The condition is caused by pain in the mouth and throat, obstruction of the pharynx or oesophagus or abnormalities in the muscular action of the pharynx or oesophagus.
