Seborrhoeic capitis. Flakes of dead skin, or dandruff, in the hair of a 13 year old girl with seborrhoeic capitis. This is a form of dermatitis, an itchy scaly rash of the skin, that occurs on the scalp. The flakes appear moist due to the overproduction of sebum, the secretion from sebaceous glands associated with hair follicles. Treatment includes the use of anti-dandruff shampoo and corticosteroid drugs.
