Eczema is a superficial skin inflammation characterised by an itchy rash and small blisters that may weep and become crusted. Secondary infection of the blisters can occur as a result of scratching or poor hygiene. Eczema can occur for a variety of reasons and sometimes has no apparent cause. Treatment includes avoiding any known cause and use of soothing ointments.
