Acute eczema. Itchy skin inflammation (erythema) and blistering on the face of a patient suffering from acute eczema. Eczema is sometimes referred to as dermatitis, though the latter term is usually reserved for an external cause of the symptoms. The skin inflammation can be treated with soothing creams and corticosteroid drugs.
