Caption

Psoriasiform eczema. Light micrograph of a section through skin tissue showing overgrowth of the epidermis (red) in psoriasiform (psoriasis-like) eczema. In psoriasis the epidermis (outer skin layer) grows several times faster than normal, leading to the creation of hard, scaly patches on the skin. The cause of this condition is unknown. Skin softening (emollient) creams can help to relieve itching. Magnification unknown.
