Severe seborrheic eczema on the skin of an 80- year-old woman. Seborrheic eczema is a type of skin inflammation (dermatitis) caused by over- activity of sebaceous glands. It causes an itchy rash. It may occur due to an allergy, but in many cases there is no apparent cause. Eczema is treated by the application of steroid and moisturising creams.
