Bone growth disorder. Coloured X-rays of one of the ankles of a patient with enchondromatosis (Ollier's disease). Enchondromatosis is a rare bone growth disorder where masses of cartilage form in bones. The growths can appear childhood, and cause swelling and deformities of the bones, as seen here. In later life, the growths can turn cancerous, when they will need removing. The X-ray at right is from the side, while the X-ray at left is from the front. The tibia is the thicker of the two leg bones seen above the ankle. The other bone is the fibula.
