Close-up of the eye of a patient affected by keratitis. Keratitis is an inflammation of the cornea, the transparent membrane which covers the front part of the eyeball. Symptoms of keratitis include eye pain, excessive watering, blurring of vision and an abnormal sensitivity to bright light. If keratitis persists for a long time, blood vessels grow into the cornea.
