Scar tissue on the eye of a 22-year-old man. The scarring is seen by a change in colour from white to a bloodshot film over the eye at centre right. This is scarring of the conjunctiva, and resulted from an operation, 10 years previously, to correct a squint. The conjunctiva is a clear membrane that covers the white of the eye and lines the inside of the eyelids.
