Gastritis, pill camera view. Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach lining. It causes pain on eating or drinking, and may cause nausea and vomiting. It has a number of causes, including excessive alcohol consumption, excessive use of aspirin, reflux of bile from the intestines or infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria. Treatment is aimed at the underlying cause, and antacids or protein pump inhibitor drugs, which neutralise acid or reduce its production respectively, can help to reduce the symptoms. A pill camera is a pill-sized camera that is swallowed to image the digestive tract.
