Welwitschia plant (Welwitschia mirabilis). This plant, which has only two leaves, can live for over a thousand years and is it is thought that some individuals may be up to two thousand years old. It is native to the deserts of Namibia and Angola where it survives by absorbing moisture from the morning desert dew.
