Caption

Arterial blood clot. Light micrograph of a section through an arterial blood clot (thrombus). Blood clot formation (thrombosis) inside a blood vessel, such as an artery, is abnormal, and can block the blood flow. If the thrombus detaches from where it formed, it can travel in the bloodstream to another location in the body, such as the lungs or the brain, with consequences that can be fatal. Magnification unknown.
