Kyphosis. Side view of a 60 year old man suffering from kyphosis (spinal curvature) secondary to prolonged steroid use for asthma. Kyphosis is due to a disorder of the vertebrae. It is usually caused by osteoporosis (decrease in bone mass and density), although a fractured vertebra or a vertebral tumour may have the same effect.
