Infection by this fungus (candidiasis) most commonly affects patients with a weakened immune system. While Candida albicans usually affects moist mucous membranes, such as in the mouth and vagina, it can spread to other organs. Treatment is with anti- fungal drugs. Magnification: x200 at 6x7cm size.
