Infection (paronychia) on the finger of a one month old baby girl. Paronychia is a bacterial infection of the skin surrounding a nail. It causes pain, inflammation and pus formation. Antibiotic drugs may be used to stop bacterial growth. If an abscess has formed, it may be lanced and drained.
