Psoriasis lesions (white) on a man's hands. This is a common skin disease where there is a large increase in the speed of epidermal (outer skin layer) cell production, which causes scaly patches to form that may become infected and itchy. Psoriasis may be caused by an infection, stress, or be drug-induced. Treatment, depending upon the cause, involves ointments, phototherapy and drugs. Photographed in Africa.
