MODEL RELEASED. Mouth poly. Polyp on the inside of a 16 year old boy's cheek. A polyp is an abnormal growth of tissue from a mucous membrane. This polyp has been caused by the rubbing of orthodontic braces. Treatment is either with corticosteroid drugs, which shrink the polyp, or surgical removal.
