This axial (cross-sectional) CT scan of the head in a person with long-standing Paget's disease reveals the marked thickening and disorganized appearance of the bony structures. Also note the large soft tissue mass (grayish in appearance) in the sino-nasal region (towards the top middle of the image) which represents sarcomatous degeneration, known to occur in long-standing Paget's disease.
