Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Inflamed ear of a 48-year-old woman who has Ramsay Hunt syndrome. The most common form is Ramsay Hunt syndrome type II. The most visible symptom is facial weakness and paralysis (see M250/074), but the condition also affects the nerves supplying the ear, causing the inflammation seen here.
