Torticollis. View of the neck of a 20 year old man showing a twisted neck, a condition known as torticollis. This condition is usually caused by a minor neck injury which triggers a spasm in the neck muscles. As a result the head is rotated and tilted into an abnormal position, in which it remains. The treatment for torticollis may include wearing a neck (orthopaedic) collar, treatment with heat or ultrasound, or physiotherapy.
