Athlete's foot. Toes of a 68 year old woman with athlete's foot, or tinea pedis, a fungal infection of the skin. It can be caused by various fungi, including Microsporum and Trichophyton. It causes severe itching and is highly contagious. Treatment is with anti-fungal drugs.
