Bladder tuberculosis. Coloured urogram (X-ray) of the pelvis of a patient with tuberculosis (TB) of the bladder. It has caused part of the wall of the bladder to become thickened (white). This is a secondary disease caused when the Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria move from the lungs to the urinary tract via the blood. Symptoms of TB of the bladder include increased frequency of urination and pain during urination. It can lead to a decreased bladder capacity. Treatment is with antibiotics.
