Caption

Bleeding intestinal ulcer. Endoscope view of a bleeding intestinal ulcer (upper left) of a 34 year-old male patient. The ulcer is situated in the first part of the small intestine, known as the duodenum. This bleeding may be controlled by using a probe, which passes an electric current through the bleeding vessel to seal it (electrocautery).
