Ulcer on the ball of a 68-year-old man's foot. Ulcers are non-healing, pus-filled open sores that cause the destruction of surrounding tissue (necrosis). Ulcers of the feet and legs are usually caused by trauma or poor blood supply. Treatment involves the use of antibiotic and antimicrobial drugs.
