Hay fever. Eleven year old girl suffering from rhinitis due to hay fever holds a tissue up to her face before sneezing. She is in a field of oil seed rape, Brassica napus. Rhinitis is an irritant inflammation of the upper nasal tract lining. In hay fever (allergic rhinitis), this occurs due to an allergy to certain pollen, such as that from rape seed. Symptoms include watering eyes, sneezing and a runny nose.
