Plant sensitivity. Allergic reaction to a plant on the skin of a 70-year-old man. This reaction is caused by primin, a substance produced by Primula obconica, a common houseplant. Primin is found on the leaves, glandular surface hairs and flowers. The allergic reactions produced by primin range from redness of the skin after contact to an inability to enter a room containing P. obconica.
