Dog bite on adult shin. Close-up of lacerations on an adult shin, inflicted by a rottweiler dog. At centre, the partly scabbed wound has become secondarily infected. This infection is caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. Dog bites can produce mixed infections, including tetanus. Treatment is with antibiotic drugs and anti- tetanus injections.
