Sub-ungual haematoma after drainage. Injury to the finger tip of a woman, showing a small blood blister under the nail (sub-ungual haematoma) which has been drained of blood. It was drained through a hole in the nail bed (visible), using a large needle. No force is required; simple rotation of the point as it rests vertically on the nail will make a suitable puncture. Antibiotic drugs may be needed if there is evidence of infection.
Model release not required. Property release not required.
