Fibreglass cast. Patient's injured wrist bandaged with a fibreglass cast. Fibreglass is a textile fabric made from woven glass fibres. It may be permeated with resin to form a hard setting cast. In this way a bone injury or fracture can be immobilised so that the bone can set. Fibreglass may be cast as strong as plaster of Paris, yet is much lighter and easier to wear.
