Fractured leg in frame. A metal frame attached to a patient's leg to secure it's position during healing. This frame is attached to the leg in two places with pins inserted into the leg bone. The frame will hold the leg precisely in position while the fractured bone heals. Frames are used in cases of an unstable fracture where a plaster cast would be inadequate protection.
