Cooking with broken leg. Woman with a broken leg in plaster, makes tea in a kitchen. The woman is sitting on a kitchen stool and holding crutches. The plaster cast on the woman's right leg is a rigid casing, applied to a limb to hold a broken bone or dislocated joint in the correct position during healing. Plaster casts are made using bandages impregnated with plaster of Paris, which hardens after application. Plaster casts are removed using an electric saw that cuts through the cast but does not damage the skin.
