Eye injury. Blood in a 62-year-old woman's eye. This is subconjunctival bleeding from an impact from walking into a tree. The blood vessels below the conjunctiva, the membrane covering the front of the eye, have burst. No treatment is needed if bleeding has stopped. The blood does not affect vision, and the blood will be broken down and reabsorbed over a few weeks.
